A Chair with a bit of a back story.
In the interest of putting off our real work around oomlout we set ourselves a simple challenge, make a chair. What ensued a day (well we're a bit disappointed as it took closer to half a day but we digress) where we went from figuring out what size a chair should be through computer drawings, cnc cutting and finally assembly.
Shameless Plug
If you'd like all the details they can be found on our blog: http://oomlout.com/blog/
Instructions
You'll need to format the drawings to suit your own CNC machine (sorry no g-code our machine is from the late eighties and functions on super proprietary programs (TPC FTW?)). Then cut from any 1/2" stock.
In terms of joining it all together, what is required is 16 1/4" x 1 1/2" bolts and 16 matching nuts.
An Aside
While we love the chair we produced we would recommend the following improvements.
- improve rigidity by adding support bars on the uprights.
- unless you have a very large bottom the width could be reduced by an inch or two.
